The applicator mitt soaks up a lot of the product, which seemed like a waste. I just started using latex gloves to apply the tanner and they work just as well and don’t soak up anything so you’re not wasting product. And you don’t have to rinse them out after, just toss them in the trash. The other thing I didn’t like about the mitt is that it doesn’t stay on your hand very well, it kind of slides around your hand and sometimes even slides off mid-application. It’s just cumbersome. Don’t waste your money, just use gloves.

Develops holes very quickly

I’ve had this mitt for about two months. I will say, it does an excellent job of application, especially for foam products. I will still get some streets around my feet, but I feel like that’s more me than the mitt. However, a home appeared on the side of the mitt on the second use, which has now grown to be about 3 inches long. It’s also developed a 1 inch hole on the top of the mitt. All this is after maybe five or six total uses. This is really tending towards a single use product. I guess at $1/application that’s not bad, but I certainly expected it to sty in tact longer.

Absolute MUST HAVE for fake tan!!

As I age, I realize I need to take it easy in the sun. I’m naturally dark complexioned, and tan extremely fast. However I’ve become a big fan of fake tan during the summer. It just helps deepen your color without the harmful effects. I use it maybe once every week or two. It doesn’t last that long.. BUT the point is- you cannot use fake tanners without a mit! You just can’t. You will have streaks and spots everywhere.
I use foam tanners. I pump it right on the mit, apply to my upper arm, and what’s left on the mit I quickly rub over my elbow. Then do the same to my lower arm, then wipe remainder on mit over my wrist and hands. You never want to apply a fresh pump of product to your “bends” (areas with joints that have fold/bend lines- fingers, wrists, elbows, knees, neck). Always go over those when you mit isn’t full of product and it turns out perfect!

Hand wash in the sink with soap and water- BAM. Clean and ready for next use. The stain doesn’t come out, but the nasty sticky smell does.

This is a good cheap mit. Won’t last long term, but good for an entire summer the way I use it.

Be Careful With Your Hands!

I used this with a mousse the first time. By the time I finished the first leg, the product was seeping through the lining and getting my fingers covered. I added a glove under the mitt, but that made it hard to use.
Also, the thoroughly saturated mitt made spreading product on the rest of my body streaky. It was a good thing that I was about to go to bed.
I purchased a few more mitts–one for each extremity. And after 2 tries with a mousse, I am switching formulas.
I will be putting a hairband on my wrist next time to hold this in place and trying to keep the product in the center of the mitt.

Tanner bleeds through and mitt rips easily

I purchased the St. Tropez Applicator Mitt based on the company’s reputation as a top of the line self tanner producer. Therefore, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this mitt. I had numerous problems with it. On my very first use, my self tanner product soaked through the mitt and stained my hands. After that, I began wearing latex gloves under it. Then, I only got three uses out of the mitt before it completely ripped at the seam, all the way down one side, making it completely useless.

Please, spend a couple of more dollars on a quality mitt that isn’t disposable, as this St. Tropez mitt certainly is.

This is the best applicator for tanning. It doesn’t absorb the product plus it’s not super soft in a way that cause it’s just smear the product, it actually buffs in the product. These don’t last long though if used constantly, they start to tear on the sides plus the tan product coats the glove in a way that eventually makes it feel weird and less effective. However even with those issues it’s still the best one I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot.

Don’t waste your money.This barely covers your hand and you end up with product on the end of your palm.It also can come through the cheap material.Look for a self tanning mitt that looks like a mitten.I bought one and it is awesome.This is a piece of junk.
