I received the Dell on Nov 19 and immediately started loading Updates after startup.This is where the problems started.I have a 58 Mbps Internet connection and downloads are usually very, very fast.I took 2-3 hours to download the first file, which was a conglomeration of many fixes.The Installation went relatively fast.The next download was Service Pack 1 and that took 3-4 hours.
I checked my Network speed at speedtest.net several times and it indicated from 1 Mbps to 10 Mbps and wouldn't even start a few times.I had my old computer on the table next to it, so I moved the Ethernet cable from the Dell to the old computer and ran Speedtest several times, always indicating 58-59 Mbps.This pretty much told me that the Network card on the Dell was Bad.
I filed a return with Amazon and it was approved by the seller, who wasCandance Ross, thru Amazon - BUT, I was to pay the return shipping fee, which was $65.00.I thought that was not right, since I bought a new computer, but was sold a DEFECTIVE one.I have learned my lesson to not buy through one of the Amazon partners, because I am sure that Amazon would have paid for the shipping costs to return it.

This is my first Dell computer after 20 years of owning Compaq & Hewlett Packard PCs. I'm pleased so far. It was easy to set up & run from the start. I had no problems getting it up & going. It did take a little while to delete the fluff & set it up the way I prefer, but that would be true of any new PC . I'm not a big fan of Windows 10 yet, it seems to want to take more control of my computing & requires more effort on my part to save folders where I want them. But that's an OS issue, not hardware issue. If not for my mild disappointment with Windows 10, I would have given it 5 stars. Most others I've talked to like 10. This Dell seems to be a good computer, we'll see how it holds up in the long run. I'm satisfied & pleased with it so far...

I don't know if this unit was refurbished or what but the way it was shipped, it's contents packaged and the simple instruction, etc., it makes you question if it was. First, hooked it up, plugged it in, and the desktop couldn't detect the WIFI during setup. After several hours with Dell tech support, it was determined that several drivers were missing, including the WIFI driver and front USB drivers. Did an ethernet connection, a remote assist and still couldn't update the drivers, even in safe mode. After 3 hours, the screen went blank and started to illustrate all the different colors in the rainbow with intermittent static shots. What a joke. Dell wanted to send a tech out to fix, within the next 3 business days. BIOS reported that no WIFI card was installed after trying to update drivers so tech determined it's also a hardware issue. I asked why wasn't this tested before being shipped out and they responded that since it was Amazon's product for sale, they are suppose to test it.
I am shipping it back today. What a joke and waste of my time! Black Friday is around the corner, I'll find a better deal and comp. I only bought this machine because of all the rave reviews. Just proves again, how much that really matters.

I called Dell to find out why the MS Office Trial wasn't working and found out it was already 92 days old. Doesn't make sense since I bought it 2/5/16 and received it, plugged it in on 2/11/16. So far no response from the seller.
Here it is 10/5/16 with no response from Amazon, except a "Thank you feedback email" and no response from the seller, I now have a desktop computer that is not working. Do I call Dell, the seller or Amazon? Not sure of the direction to go. The computer was set up without a password and now it will not continue to the desktop until I put in a password. So what's a customer to do when we have this kind of problem????

I installed for a friend who has never really had a decent computer. Though the included keyboard and mouse are cheap (we used his older/better ones), the computer itself runs fast and smooth and quiet.
One big deal was that he already had a gift from a friend of a long used, free, huge TV monitor, showing some pixel fatigue - faint burned in shadows visible slightly on blank screens. It looked very mediocre running on the old computer and old graphics card. Once the new Dell was up and running it was like a miracle. Suddenly the tired old monitor looked like HD TV! Very nice display and operation with the Inspiron. Actually I just bought a fine Viewsonic 28" 4K monitor and I am jealous of his old Dell TV monitor running on the Inspiron, which is 1/5th the cost of my Studio XPS 9100 system I paid over $2400 for 6 years ago (w/o monitor).
The only irritant was with Windows 10 (which I really like generally). It took forever to download upgrades before I could start using the Inspiron. I would have thought Dell would ship with latest Windows w/o a need to wait 1.5 hours for download/installation just of upgrades.
The computer loads and starts up very fast, downloads pages quickly, and all my sites seem to be performing faster. No long waits for data to down load and it is compatible with current software. It also came with a simple keyboard and optical mouse that meets all my needs. I should have upgraded from Vista sooner.

Unfortunately the unit delivered to me had only 4 g's of memory and it was advertised as 12. I could have sent it back but decided to keep it and they refunded me $30.00 which I agreed to and then added memory myself. Computer came on time and worked out of the box.Loaded and installed all my programs and data in under a day.With 1 TB hard drive I can work off the drive and use the 6 TB server as a backup as intended.My computer is set to and does backup new data or programs with in an hour.Comparable to computers at twice the price.
Graphics card failed in less than 3 months. Could have bought new for what it cost to fix. I would not recommend this refurbished product, spend a little more and buy new.
Box was previously opened, shady when sold as new. No issues so far, but if i didnt need to get this set up ASAP, i would have returned it instead of rolling the dice. I WILL update this in a while if it stays working properly, but 3 stars is the best i can give until then.
This bundle is the best 39$ I’ve spent in who knows how long. The mouse is made well and looks like it won’t be having buttons or side grips falling off like others I’ve had in the past.
